about me

My photo
Married to Nick for 13 years, with 2 children; Sabrina - 12 and Dominic - 11. I am a girlfriend through and through in that I love girly things and anything that celebrates the essence of being a woman. I love vintage, shabby chic, the country and try my best to do my bit for the environment. SO yes...we have 3 bins in our house and try our best to recycle! I believe that with everything in life, the closer we stick to nature, the better off we'll be. I would love to have a balance in life, but have learnt that balance is not always possible, so strive for significance instead, in the hopes that that will be just as meaningful, and the rest will hopefully follow.

Updates for CHARMED...

Sigh…there are days when I type these snippets, knowing that there’s no ways I’m doing this book justice, and desperately wanting to finish the entire chapter with you, as we sip our latte’s, cappuccino’s and HERBAL TEAS together LOL!!!
But at the rate I’m going, I’m also starting to get the feeling that we won’t even be half way through by Christmas!....so I thought I’d catch up on a few principles, for this post…..

CHARMED LIFE principle no 17 – Enlarge your world: Without bags of money and the temperament of a Marco Polo we can all enlarge our world. Study a language, Shop in an exotic market, Read newspapers from other places, befriend people from other countries, learn how other people see things and expand your world within as well as without.

CHARMED LIFE principle no 16 – Live your life in chapters: A charmed life is lived in chapters, the way you would read a long novel….Give yourself without reservation to the chapter you’re on. Somehow the notion cropped up that we’d better do everything today. The idea took hold and now almost everybody believes it. This is why so many women are running nonstop just to keep up. In a frantic attempt to realize their dreams, the dreams retreat and the frantic feeling takes hold.

CHARMED LIFE principle no 15 – Do the next indicated thing (ooohhhh you gotta love this one!!): Tending to what needs to be done when it needs doing is preventive medicine for day-to-day life. Doing the next indicated thing means taking the next action life presents, whether you’re inspired by the prospect or not. The ability to do this is what separates the calm from the crazed. It is a direct route to more time, more peace, and more fulfillment. The next indicated thing is occasionally momentous, but more often than not it appears insignificant. It’s finishing the filing you started before lunch, getting the mail out of the box, taking off your make-up when you get in late and want to skip it just this once. As pedestrian as all this seems, steering us toward the next indicted thing is an important way life nudges us in the direction we’re supposed to be going. If we too often bypass what is at hand, and detour onto something else, obligations can become overwhelming and get us off course.

  1. B, I know you mentioned a while back that this book is out of print, but please send me the info anyway as I want to see if I can get my hands on it...just love the principals and would like the opportunity to work through them on a daily basis - the chapters principal, just like my seasons, confirms everything changes you just have to live in the moment and know that it won't last forever. Oh well, off to do the next indicated thing, which in my case is tidying the lounge and then off to clinic with nic. Miss you today as always.xxx

  2. I have always felt that my life is made up of chapters and they are all there for a specific purpose, to help you in the next chapter.

I also do try and do what needs to be done when it needs to be done.
