about me

My photo
Married to Nick for 13 years, with 2 children; Sabrina - 12 and Dominic - 11. I am a girlfriend through and through in that I love girly things and anything that celebrates the essence of being a woman. I love vintage, shabby chic, the country and try my best to do my bit for the environment. SO yes...we have 3 bins in our house and try our best to recycle! I believe that with everything in life, the closer we stick to nature, the better off we'll be. I would love to have a balance in life, but have learnt that balance is not always possible, so strive for significance instead, in the hopes that that will be just as meaningful, and the rest will hopefully follow.

Things I know for sure this week, ending 12th October..

- the ANC faces a possible split…(although unlikely I think).
- i have a Hello Kitty carry all bag, large enough for me to fit into it!!
- going back to dancing after 2 weeks was definitely one of the highs of my week…I really missed it!
- i have moments where, sitting on a deserted island, seems just where I need to be right now…
- the last 2 weeks have been a blur…..
- my precious wild birds are back…helps when you feed them! LOL!
- there a lots of buds on our day lilies.
- we got to enjoy Inanda dam for the first time since we’ve lived here.
- i am reading “The Red Book” by Sera Beak and "Shelter for the Soul" by Victoria Moran, both of which are awesome reads!
- our children are playing twister.
- i got through a Wimpy cheeseburger without tearing up because it’s one of Andreas favourite foods, but I still can’t eat one without thinking how much I miss her.
- i still can’t shop for costume jewellery, without thinking that Lin should be there with me.
- i am so glad that Trace is back!
- We’ve planted a new herb garden..

  2. Friends and routine are so important and it is amazing how we miss both. But with technology we can certainly keep in touch with friends and we just have to put ourselves back into our routine.

I feel the same way when I miss a gym session - I feel extatic when I go the next day.

I agree, sometimes we just need time out on our own - to gather our thoughts and reflect on life.

    Enjoy your books.
