This morning, as I watched them dance around my garden, my mind couldn't help but ponder on how i wished I felt as light and happy as they look....and how desperately I would love to just lay my head down in a meadow full of flowers and gaze up at the sky.....
By this afternoon I'd come to the conclusion that maybe the reason beautiful butterflies dart from flower to flower, is because they understand the consequences of what could happen if they rested on that sunny rock for too long...they may very well end up being eaten alive....maybe, they choose to spread their wings and fly as high as they possibly can, despite their longing to linger.......just like we can choose to be overcome by the feelings that can sometimes take hold of us, or choose to spread our wings and find the next flower...even if it is with a heavy heart....
You know my passion for butterflies gf, hence the reason for my tattoo...I believe they have the perfect balance of dancing in the daylight and stopping for a while to "smell the roses" and enjoy life....if we could find a way to be more like them I think life would be a totally blissful thing :0)
