about me

My photo
Married to Nick for 13 years, with 2 children; Sabrina - 12 and Dominic - 11. I am a girlfriend through and through in that I love girly things and anything that celebrates the essence of being a woman. I love vintage, shabby chic, the country and try my best to do my bit for the environment. SO yes...we have 3 bins in our house and try our best to recycle! I believe that with everything in life, the closer we stick to nature, the better off we'll be. I would love to have a balance in life, but have learnt that balance is not always possible, so strive for significance instead, in the hopes that that will be just as meaningful, and the rest will hopefully follow.

pink pastel parlour

Time permitting, one of the things I love the most about blogging is all the SHARING that takes place....be it about life, domesticity, relationships, homesteading...my mental notebook runneth over!
On Thursday last week Sabrina got her notification to say that it was her turn to be the Entrepreneur the following day - nothing like less than 24 hours notice in exam week!!
Basically each child has a turn to sell ANYTHING - homemade or not, to classmates, for R5 - exactly like baker baker used to be...back in the day...sigh...the days when we had time to painstakingly place the sprinkles evenly, with the CHERRY on TOP.
Over the years I have found 2 things to be a safe bet from a time and popularity point of view, for last minute party favours, baker baker or cake sales at school ...POP CORN and ICE CREAM.

Sigh.....be still my beating heart.....I love EVERYTHING about an ice-cream parlour...
..i could LOSE MYSELF in the smells, the flavours, the names of the flavours, the pink and white candy stripes, the vintage memories, THE TOPPINGS!!...the cutesy everything...the yumminess of it all!

For some reason blogger still hasn't sorted the problem of certain pics being flipped!...you get the general idea:-)
So my girlie and I set to work....we grabbed ribbon, cutesy pegs, and all the ice cream sundae dishes we could find....we printed these adorable printables from EAT DRINK CHIC (thank you thank you thank you!), packed a cooler bag with ice cream, toppings (jellies, chocolate, mallows, sprinkles), cutesy tea towels and pastel apron and VOILA....her mobile ice cream parlour was ready for business!
......and they all SCREAMED FOR ICE CREAM:-))
