about me

My photo
Married to Nick for 13 years, with 2 children; Sabrina - 12 and Dominic - 11. I am a girlfriend through and through in that I love girly things and anything that celebrates the essence of being a woman. I love vintage, shabby chic, the country and try my best to do my bit for the environment. SO yes...we have 3 bins in our house and try our best to recycle! I believe that with everything in life, the closer we stick to nature, the better off we'll be. I would love to have a balance in life, but have learnt that balance is not always possible, so strive for significance instead, in the hopes that that will be just as meaningful, and the rest will hopefully follow.

Personal growth

I wasn't sure what to make of today's post, so sat back for a while and reflected on the day and anything significant or relevant that may be worth posting. Nothing springs to mind except to say that it's just been a good day - simple as that. And that's nothing to scoff at!

I am very fortunate in that I really have a lot of the good days, but I have spent the last year or so doing some serious introspection, and actually trying to put some of the many self help books i have read over the years, into practice! I've tried really hard to work on formula's that make what may seem like the daily grind of life, seem somewhat more worthwhile. And maybe that's the theme of today's post, or my message ... be conscious of making every day count, for something.

I feel like the last year has really paid off. I have become far more conscious of how I spend my days, and how and where I channel my energies, and place my focus. I am amazed at how many people lack the time or energy to spend the quality time they want or need to, with their families or doing what they love, OR even with themselves!

So today's entry from Creating a Charmed Life says: 2. Follow your heart - Accomplishing your daily goals has a place, but the heart has a valid agenda of it's own. When you can look back on a day and find within it even one warm memory or a single touching story, you've paid attention to your heart.

To help me make mental notes throughout the day and stay on a positive wavelength, I came up with my G's. Have you ever noticed how the letter G represents so many good things....like God, Gratitude, Giving, Goals, Greatness, Grace/gracious, Growth.....gorgeous guys....GUESS...GUCCI....ok losing focus here.. LOL!. So I "Generally Go with G" on a daily basis, and here are some of mine...spend time with God, set Goals (everyday and account for them at the end of it), Give!..(somewhere, somehow), be Gracious/act with Grace when you maybe don't want to (eish!...this is the hard one for me.....why do they make HOOTERS in cars if you can't use them!!! hey??...eek..so i still have lots of work to do ..giggle.), take Gratitude (giving thanks...even the little things count!), Grow (try and do at least 1 thing that's stretching you to beyond your comfort zone)...and the GREATNESS will come!!!!!!

  2. Love the G thing - going to pick a letter every two weeks (was going to say every week, but let's not get ahead of ourselves here) and write out a gratitude list for this letter (including aspirations, dreams, etc.).

    Thanks for a divine idea.

    Love, Tracy
