about me

My photo
Married to Nick for 13 years, with 2 children; Sabrina - 12 and Dominic - 11. I am a girlfriend through and through in that I love girly things and anything that celebrates the essence of being a woman. I love vintage, shabby chic, the country and try my best to do my bit for the environment. SO yes...we have 3 bins in our house and try our best to recycle! I believe that with everything in life, the closer we stick to nature, the better off we'll be. I would love to have a balance in life, but have learnt that balance is not always possible, so strive for significance instead, in the hopes that that will be just as meaningful, and the rest will hopefully follow.

HIGH fashion, HIGH tea......

Ok well today's blog is going to be really short and sweet...it's been a long, but productive day, and at last this very active household has come to a lull...and I can BREATHE.... . SO I'm now taking the 10 that having a charmed life is all about. I am fortunate enough to have been invited to what sounds like a wonderful High Tea/Ladies Event on Friday, where "pretty dresses and hats are to be worn"... . Oh hello???? Found a dress that I fell in love with, and once I'd put the shoes, bag, and other bits and pieces together, decided it was fit to be worn in the next episode of SEX IN THE CITY.... . Whilst I must confess I haven't seen the show, but have seen the movie, I just loved the frivolous fashions, and how Sara Jessica Parker puts some of those outfits together...uuuhhhhmmmm..... . I did warn you all that I am a girlfriend through and through, so fashion was bound to come up on one of the posts..and my disclaimer is this.....every girl has her vice! LOL! I think this fits in to one of the charmed principles, ...but unfortunately not today's.....but speaking of which, here it is!

CHARMED LIFE principle no 9: (ok this is a BIGGIE....ready??...) COEXIST GRACEFULLY WITH THE UNRESOLVED ....( yip...wouldn't we all just LOVE TO!) - We build the courage to get through the subtstantial trials by learning to cohabit with the trivia. (and I say...AMEN!) The ability to coexist gracefully with the unresolved has immense practical value. Without it, we can function at our best only when everything is Perfect (in other words, never!) When you're met with a situation that can't be solved right away, do what you can to coexist with it. Talk about it with someone you trust. Write about it in your journal; give yourself 10 minutes or half an hour to be actively angry, frightened, or both. Then take whatever action toward resolution you reasonably can, and give each actions session a definitive ending.

  1. I love your girly dress and the idea of a High Tea - oooohhh, I'm going to plan one of those ...

BTW, I so agree with Principle No. 9 - I guess that's why we healthy people blog - we live this life even though it sometimes gets us down ...

    Thanks for the inspiration.

    Love, Tracy G
