about me

My photo
Married to Nick for 13 years, with 2 children; Sabrina - 12 and Dominic - 11. I am a girlfriend through and through in that I love girly things and anything that celebrates the essence of being a woman. I love vintage, shabby chic, the country and try my best to do my bit for the environment. SO yes...we have 3 bins in our house and try our best to recycle! I believe that with everything in life, the closer we stick to nature, the better off we'll be. I would love to have a balance in life, but have learnt that balance is not always possible, so strive for significance instead, in the hopes that that will be just as meaningful, and the rest will hopefully follow.

A beautiful day.....

It is a picture here today. By that I mean that the sun is shining brightly (unlike the photo below!), the sky is blue, dotted with puffs of white clouds that you wish you could lie in and float, the grass is almost back to it's lush, green colour of summer, and seems crisp and fresh after last night's rain - and for background music, the birds are singing in the trees. No really, I know it sounds...."sweet", but how can I not notice a day that seems to be pulling out all the stops, to be noticed and appreciated. So And's my friend, I think today, may be a diamond after all!
Speaking of my girlfriend, who for a minute, shares a birthday with me, and so, so much more...sniff...she said something on her blog last week that really resonated and struck a chord with me. The exact words escape me, but she made reference to people who have become like friends to her, via her blog, and I have to say I can so relate.

We often refer to a "circle of friends", and that's what I feel I have gained, quite unexpectedly through this wonderful medium of communication. To be able to connect with people on a daily basis, who share such similar views about life, love, and the trials and tribulations that come with it, truly is a gift.....and then of course it's SO MUCH CHEAPER THAN THERAPY! lol!

So to all my "blog buddies", who encourage me, offer support, share from the heart, and pop in on a daily basis (for a "virtual" cuppuccino.or latte!!), I just have to say, that you are all such a source of inspiration and upliftment for me! Whilst I may not know you all personally, I feel I know your hearts, and that's when I think that maybe technology isn't always a bad thing afterall. Getting to hang with you guys, where ever you are, for a few minutes a day, is like food for the soul. And I do want to say to the following people (in no particular order!!), Michelle, Tracy G, Ronda, Lindy, and the 3 other legs of the table, that thanks to you, blogging for me, has become just as awesome as: a day like today, a pink fluffy feather boa - with tiara of course!, when you hear your favourite, favourite song, smelling the sweetest rose, walking in a field of lavender...sigh..., being surrounded by hundreds of scrapping "blossoms/flowers" of all colours, shapes and sizes, seeing black and white cows in a green, green meadow...sigh.., eating your favourite meal, the smell of vanilla candles, meeting Colin Firth or Andy Garcia in person.....ok wait...scrap that....maybe not the last one....that's more like when you've died and gone to heaven!! LOL!
My photo's today are just random ones taken recently, which I love, for various different reasons...

  1. I have to agree firstly with what a beautiful day today has been and secondly how special all our "blog buddies" have become.

I have certainly found a lot of "blog buddies" and I eagerly look forward to their updates (yes, I know I have been slack lately, but I have been scrapping!!)

I have also got to know them from their hearts and enjoy reading about their trials and tribulations and how they managed to deal with the situations.

Beryldene, you have been a huge inspiration to me in the way you write and what you write and for that I thank you so very much.

  3. Hi there. This is my first time visit to your uplifting little corner in cyber space, and what a lovely surprise. I enjoy reading everything you have to say ... you have got such a lovely easy reading writing style. I love the way you define our visits to each others blogs as "virtual" cuppuccino.or latte!! So true. I notice that you also have a love for nature and notice the small every day things which we often see over. Your snow photos are stunning. Adding you to my Google Reader and will pop in on a regular basis. Happy blogging. Warm regards from Gauteng

  4. Oh wow - I saw my name on your blog - it is me, isn't it??? Please say it's me ... please ... please ... could do with a bit of virtual praise this week ... feeling ewww ... BUT the sun will come out tomorrow, bet your bottom dollar that tomorrow ... come what may ...

Thank you so much for saying that I am like Andy Garcia to you (well, that's sort of what I choose to read into your words ... tee hee ...).

Seriously, I have to reciprocate and say how much your blogging inspires me - you have such an honest way with words (if this makes any sense at all???) and you put {LIFE} into perspective on some pretty hectic days ...

You seem like a complicated (or maybe I should say "DEEP") gal but with an inner peace that radiates through your blog - THANK YOU, BERYLDENE for inspiring all of us ...

    Loads of love, Tracy G
