about me

My photo
Married to Nick for 13 years, with 2 children; Sabrina - 12 and Dominic - 11. I am a girlfriend through and through in that I love girly things and anything that celebrates the essence of being a woman. I love vintage, shabby chic, the country and try my best to do my bit for the environment. SO yes...we have 3 bins in our house and try our best to recycle! I believe that with everything in life, the closer we stick to nature, the better off we'll be. I would love to have a balance in life, but have learnt that balance is not always possible, so strive for significance instead, in the hopes that that will be just as meaningful, and the rest will hopefully follow.

Power of the written word.

Today's post is really about some quirky little "post it's" of a different kind, in our home, both of which have a story behind them...The first one is my blackboard that I fell in love with on a trip to Clarence.....for a while I used it to record up and coming events, but what a job to update it! A while ago it found it's home, exactly where I think it was meant to be all along...and I love it, because it now serves as a reminder of a different kind....of what REALLY counts ...love. It is now in our bedroom, which over the last few months has evolved from what always was a comfortable room, to a room that is now an inviting, romantic space, which reflects both masculine and feminine elements. The beauty of it is that I get to update it whenever I want with messages I know are meaningful, and are a celebration of our love and life together. Whilst our home is filled with photo's and artwork of and made by our children, our bedroom is now (thanks to the wonderful advice from my wise, awesome aunt - Josie) the one space in the house that is just about Nick and I - and why not...that's where this WONDERFUL JOURNEY started.

The other pics were taken in the December holidays. The kids had been bickering, so in a desperate attempt to make it all go away, I banned them from speaking to one another........children can be so resourceful sometimes!

Just when I thought I had them stumped! LOL!!
