about me

My photo
Married to Nick for 13 years, with 2 children; Sabrina - 12 and Dominic - 11. I am a girlfriend through and through in that I love girly things and anything that celebrates the essence of being a woman. I love vintage, shabby chic, the country and try my best to do my bit for the environment. SO yes...we have 3 bins in our house and try our best to recycle! I believe that with everything in life, the closer we stick to nature, the better off we'll be. I would love to have a balance in life, but have learnt that balance is not always possible, so strive for significance instead, in the hopes that that will be just as meaningful, and the rest will hopefully follow.

Spring

Our first few days of spring have brought no suprises...hot sunny days, inbetween days where the mist belt makes you feel you're somewhere magical, like in a fairy tale:-)......i have always LOVED watching the MIST make its way across our nature reserve...like little clouds floating off on their way to somewhere else.....The downside is I'm really going to miss the dry sunny days of winter, where you could PAINT.....AND PAINT AND PAINT, furtniture.

My DH asked me over dinner a few days ago, if eventually everything in our house is going to be painted white......i thought about it for a second, and before I could answer, my eyes fell onto my raw wood shabby linen shelf, and widened without me even knowing it......he shrugged and said....."I guess that's a YES then".....but seriously...what's a shabby chic lovin' girl to do:-)

I'm taking today off from a heavy month prior, to actually take in the wonders of spring in the quiet .... to lie on the porch and smell the jasmine, whilst I sip my tea and listen to the sounds of nature...even if just for a while...
I just luuurve birdfeeders.....thought this one was just too cutesy and original.....so need to find one that's "monkey proof".....

  1. Going to be a beautiful Spring... lots more cocktails and sunny days coming up. Really will need to stop in September to appreicate it all and look out for the fresh new leaves... going to be one of those fast-paced-not-enough-time-for-everything months unfortunately for me. Will be there in spirit on your gorg sunny porch while you look out and sip your tea.
