Time is my word....
I started this year with absolutely no new year's resolutions whatsoever......none. and I was ok with it. But deep down inside, I was like..."Really???.....you're SERIOUSLY not going to go with even one???".... .I guess I really just couldn't bear the thought of something left unachieved, unfinished, incomplete - in the face of me striving really hard to be better at everything I'm not "better at", and doing really well at being disciplined in all the goals I had set myself. Why then go out and settle on a bunch of unrealistic goals, that are sure to lead me down the garden path of self loathe and failure....
But soul searching and introspection is a wonderful thing, - because I mulled over it all, contemplated, and then told myself to wait...just bide my TIME, and "IT" would come..... and it did. SO instead of new year's resolutions, my heart and mind were ONE on choosing a WORD - a word that resonates with me and where I'm at, at this point in my life, a word that encompasses a multitude of things, and would remind me what they are and what they mean to me....and after some long hard thought, reflecting on some powerful, meaningful words, and more soul searching, I finally found TIME, and it found me....
SO far, it's been a revelation to see how being focused on just one word, can bring about so much positive change. It's simple, it stands out, it's uncomplicated, and there's no "getting confused" about what you're trying to achieve - it just is, what it is.
Time is now my word, my mantra, my promise for the year, to myself. A promise to use it wisely and to be respectful of it, my promise to give it, share it and make the most of it, to savour it with those I love, and be ruthless with things that rob me of it, to plan more, and cash in on that organisation, and then last but not least, to always remember that above all else to enjoy the now....and be present in it....this TIME.
