about me

My photo
Married to Nick for 13 years, with 2 children; Sabrina - 12 and Dominic - 11. I am a girlfriend through and through in that I love girly things and anything that celebrates the essence of being a woman. I love vintage, shabby chic, the country and try my best to do my bit for the environment. SO yes...we have 3 bins in our house and try our best to recycle! I believe that with everything in life, the closer we stick to nature, the better off we'll be. I would love to have a balance in life, but have learnt that balance is not always possible, so strive for significance instead, in the hopes that that will be just as meaningful, and the rest will hopefully follow.

home

There's nothing like a beautiful sunny day, that starts with pj's and slippers, fresh eggs and a lovely, hearty, lazy breakfast..
It's the kind of day where, as you're going about your business, you have time to be present and SAVOUR each and every minute of it.....I LOVE THESE DAYS SO MUCH...

I love that I had time to be grateful for our blessings, as I lay streaky bacon on the grilling pan......and that I could quietly watched my girlie, as she carefully set the table.....taking in her sweetness...
This morning's bounty of fresh eggs....

I love that I could leisurely soak in the sight of this adorable child as he happily strolled across the lawn, in the morning sunshine, covered in hay....arms laden with eggs - our breakfast.  This boy loves his chickens.....they really are his more than anyone else's, since he's their keeper....this made me smile:-)
Testing eggs for freshness......

I couldn't help but get tangled up in all of this.....I've missed the feeling of yarn weaving through my fingers, and then straightening itself out in beautiful, neat rows of colour.
I had time to reflect on how much joy these two little furry souls have brought to our daily lives...and how darn cute they've got....the cuteness never ends....

Today was a 'stay away from the craziness day'....there was time to work, time to play, time to be grateful, time to take it all in....it was a day where we could just enjoy the melting pot of everything that we call home....food for the soul...just love, lazy long weekends:-))
