I LOVE......It's Monday, and I have no idea why I'm so upbeat...seriously...???...who's upbeat on a Monday for pete's sake!!! - weird.
My theory is that maybe, just maybe, the day is filled with possibility. I was just thinking this morning, once again, about the occupational hazard that comes with working in an industry of "over achievers"....leaves you always asking the question....what have I done with my day????
I've always thought that if people just knew that is doesn't always have to be about award winning stuff like winning the comrades or climbing Mt Everest - heck....being kind to a neighbour, helpling a friend, or just making an effort to be happy and spread the VIBE, are conscious decisions that require effort and energy, and more importantly, contribute to making the world a better place:-)...so I guess what I'm saying is, noone's exempt from achieving something in their day....:-) ....my disclaimer is that we should all try and do something that requires us to put in a little effort, no?
.....if you're going to do something, just give it heart....add some fairy dust, some magic...the world needs it.
Sooo..started the day with a STUNNING acoustic album....helps me break the back of serious tasks on the work front.....which lay ahead of me....and as I hear the first song.....I melt, I smile, and I just know that today is going to be GREAT day...just because it can be:-)...(click and listen to my song of today) ENJOY GF'S...have a happy week, because you deserve it and because YOU CAN, and maybe, try and help someone else to have a great week too!!

Phew, catching up here on your post Bee.... wow, i need to preach that to myself I think. It is so easy to get absorbed into feeling worthless. I for one battle that more than often - feeling like I am not contributing to the world and to my life by not having done EXTRAordinary things - like climbing Mt Everest.
ReplyDeleteToday as I (so often do) chatted to a stranger on a lift at the centre.... I realised just what you so beautifully summarized here : a friendly chat and smile does go noticed by some - maybe not enough people in the world though. But I took the time to chat to a stranger... the topic, the sour lady who didn't even answer this chaps simple question whether her lift was going up or down. So we laughed at her utter rudeness and I said - just a smile would have been nice nevermind an answer. And sparked off a happy few minutes of chat, wishing eachother a great day further.... guess that made my day - probably the feeling of having just climbed Mt Everest hey ... A simple act of kindness and friendliness was my mountain today - cool, I actually contributed to the world today :) Thanks as usual for your gift of seeing the simple things as bigger than BIG things.
Vee...I love that story...it epitomises the simple joys - the one's we should never forget...you always bring kindness and happiness in some way...that's one of your things GF....dont forget it
