I know the title of today's blogpost is somewhat ambiguous, but I just couldn't RESIST, in light of the fact that we are all positively CROCHET MAD at the moment:-)....I think the lady at the wool shop is having a BUMPER MONTH - I wouldn't be surprised if she's seen a SIGNIFICANT increase in her turnover, and is probably wondering if maybe, just maybe, the economy might be turning after all! LOL!!!
No ...it's just coffee club gone a little crazy....inspired by my special friend Ronda - all the way in JHB, who i feel is indirectly responsible for this little crochet revolution in the little town of Hillcrest...the photo's below are examples of most of our work....and REALLY...our mobile camera's just don't do them justice AT ALL....even if i say so myself:-)

We have all had so so much fun with this, but for me what's been the most exciting thing is to watch the different creations emerging from a group of women, who, up until a month ago, (me) and the rest, (except for Trac) up until 2 weeks ago, had probably never held a crochet needle in their LIVES!!! GF's....I think you are all SUCH amazing women - you all have SUCH a zest for life, I LOVE your "can do" attitudes, and I think in some way, we will hopefully inspire other people to TRY something new, no matter how DAUNTING it may seem....because we must be the VERY LAST group of girls anyone would EVA suspect of being crochet queens!! LOL!!
I really would love to post these blankets and other projects on completiong of, going forward...with names attached. We are now toying with the idea of doing a "friendship blanket" for each person....that's if we can get past the current projects we have!!...LOL!!
And maybe ONE DAY.....this...
OOOOR THISSSS....
WILL BE POSSIBLE!!!! - lol!!!!!!!
ahhh, just so cleva us ladies. I have blanket envy though... just love that my little brooches are in my handbag all the time, pull out even to get just a few stitches.... even waiting at the traffic lights the other day (imagine what the car next to me thought :) ). Our poor husbands .... the feeling so deprived... and yes indeed.... THANKS TO RONDA, none of us even met.
