about me

My photo
Married to Nick for 13 years, with 2 children; Sabrina - 12 and Dominic - 11. I am a girlfriend through and through in that I love girly things and anything that celebrates the essence of being a woman. I love vintage, shabby chic, the country and try my best to do my bit for the environment. SO yes...we have 3 bins in our house and try our best to recycle! I believe that with everything in life, the closer we stick to nature, the better off we'll be. I would love to have a balance in life, but have learnt that balance is not always possible, so strive for significance instead, in the hopes that that will be just as meaningful, and the rest will hopefully follow.

CELEBRATING BEE-ing!

Yesterday was my birthday.  At the moment there is just so much going on, that my birthday vibe was slightly jaded....I've been in Mommy mode, prioritising, strategising, organising....there's just been no time to reflect on celebrating my day, my year, MY LIFE.....
A little bit of vintage can go a long, long way......
But at 8 am yesterday, girlfriends started arriving at my home.....one sang HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU at my gate, at the top of her voice, and I loved her for it.....the others rallied around me, filling my home with their wonderful CHATTER, LOVE, LAUGHTER, and JOY.....it brought home to me, how VERY BLESSED I feel, to call each and every one of them FRIEND...at that very moment I realised, how often our friends can be the wind beneath our wings!
Anywhere in the garden is good enough......
Bee, Vee and Ke
Bee, Can, Ants and Susie
The silliness of it all was just what I needed, to be drawn into the now and just revell in it!!
Roses from my granny's rose bush.....
Our Judester.....oh so flambouyant when we MAKE HER:-))
Bee, Ants and Jude.... sometimes I just don't know if I'm feeling catwalk or wet wellies??
From the veggie patch to the catwalk.....
Birds of a feather.....LOVE to flock together
Some of us....
Ke and Trac....always up to no good!
Today, 2 WONDERFUL things happened.  They were things that I wanted so desperately, they had become a need.  They were 2 meaningful things, that my heart had a lot riding on.  Wonderful things happen all the time if you really look for them, and expect them to show up.  I revell everyday in the simple joys like:  my children are here, and they're healthy, and they're happy....that's wonderful right there...but we all have those extra special little (or big) things that sometimes feel so out of reach we battle to even breathe easy....  This morning I let one go...I just let it go and freed myself up from the expectation that was holding me hostage...and then what seemed like the impossible happened...sadly I can't share it for a while, but it sure is feeling a lot like my birthday week!!!:-))
